An internist's specialty is internal medicine, a primary care specialty focusing on the care and treatment of adults.
Internists provide long-term, comprehensive care, managing both common illnesses and complex problems. General internists incorporate an understanding of disease prevention, wellness, substance abuse,

What is a Family Physician? |
A family physician provides continuing and comprehensive health care for both individuals and the whole family. They treat patients of all ages in all aspects of general medicine.
Family physicians focus on health maintenance and prevention as well as health care. Since they work with and treat the entire family, family physicians can develop a unique relationship with their patients. In addition,
they can readily act as an advocate helping to coordinate consultation, health, and community services.

What is a Pediatrician? |
A pediatrician is a medical doctor who cares for children ranging from infancy to young adults to the age of 21.
Pediatricians specialize in primary care. The focus on the whole child looking at physical, mental, and social health. This includes everything from tracking a child's growth, to watching interaction with family and friends -- anything that might affect a child's overall health. Pediatricians must serve many needs since they are dealing with patients
who are continually growing and developing. A pediatrician's role is to act as primary care physician, advocate, educator, counselor, and friend to each of their patients
